Re:mote Induction: Farel Dalrymple - Pop Gun War/Meathaus - interview
Farel is also involved with a New York-based anthology called Meathaus - who are about to publish their fifth collection - a series which Farel contributes to as well as being the editor of.
Everyone in Meathaus talks about what an amazing cartoonist/illustrator this guy is. Most of us knew him from our time at s.v.a.
The cool thing about Meathaus is that it is such a good venue for all these artists I know.

Meathaus   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-03)
Though based in Brooklyn, Meathaus Enterprises/Meathaus Press is the effort of a group of artists and illustrators from throughout the country.
Meathaus has launched many of these artists into separate solo comics, illustration and animation careers, yet they still continue to meet, collaborate, and produce a better anthology with each go-round.
"Meathaus is the modern equivalent of ARCADE or RAW, not so much promoting what is already known as miraculous in alt-comics circles, but offering a glimpse at the possibilities of the future," said Rob Vollmar, of Rarefied Reading.

 Re:mote Induction: Meathaus 1-4
Meathaus is an anthology which mostly features creators from New York, and has published 4 issues to date.
It seems that each contributor is allotted a few pages each - the nature of which means that none of the stories are of any particular depth or plot intricacy.
Why each piece works is down to what the artist does with their pages and personal taste, though it is interesting to see how some of the choices of what works varies from issue to issue.

Over the past six years, this group of talented men and women have become a bloated beast of artistic awesomeness, spreading across the globe and achieving success in a variety of endeavors.
(Angry Jim of meathaus is in paper fleet, and Nick Gazin of Meathaus groupiedom is in Ghost Dad), its gonna be a doozy.

Now, though, the core 20 or so members are spread across the globe with members in Tulsa, London, Oakland, Seattle, Los Angeles and Toronto, with some still loitering in New York.
Meathaus’ DIY books are now themed around ideas rather than a loose collection of comic-book stories, although the tales are still exceptionally varied.
Poetic, humorous, detailed, light-hearted, personal, fantastic — the only thing they have in common is their independence, and the fact that they’re in fl and white.

The site was created by my friend Chris McD, to publicize and complement the Meathaus comics anthology that we’ve been putting together for the past few years.
The anthology was started by bunch of guys who went to art school together as a way to congregate and draw comics in a cramped, damp room filled with beer and machismo.

Anthology Publishers serve up a tasty array of comic collections
The loosely organized group of cartoonists, illustrators and animators that make up popular collective Meathaus has unleashed another big, fat collection of their comics work, and it's a veritable who's who of the medium's up-and-comers and already-there-ers.
The word "headgames," in addition to providing the anthology's title, offers an (extremely vague) organizing principle for the stories included, each dealing with people (or bears, monsters, talking pork roasts and clowns) messing with one another's minds in some way.
