Although he had registered the Meccano name, Hornby and Elliot were still trading in their own names and it was obvious that a company had to be formed.

Meccano Ltd was a British toy company established in 1908 by Frank Hornby in England to manufacture and distribute Meccano and other model toys and kits created by the company.
To manufacture and distribute Meccano, Hornby needed to raise capital to invest in factory and plant, and this resulted in the establishment of Meccano Ltd in 1908, with Hornby as the sole proprietor.
Up to this point Meccano was being manufactured in England at the small factory in West Derby Road, Liverpool, but it soon became apparent that it could not meet the growing demand for Meccano, and in 1914 a new factory was built in Binns Road, Liverpool.

For the Suisse Romande (the French speaking area of Switzerland), you might presume that Meccano France would have distributed the outfits, but in fact they were all exported from Liverpool.
As pointed out by Bert Love and Jim Gamble in the HCS Meccano System 6 book, note that in the hurry to assemble the windmill model for the photograph, the sails have been mounted in reverse showing the bolt studs, nuts and girder flanges to the front!!.

The brush and commutator arrangement in the Lionel motor is different from the early Meccano motor; the Lionel arrangement is generally similar to the Erector P58 motor of the same era, and also similar to the arrangement Meccano used after around 1924.
It should be pointed out that the Meccano patents seem to cover only the idea of mounting the motor between perforated plates, and not the internal construction of the motor.
