		Also, Silver Sonic II and the robot in the second capsule in Eggman's base in Sonic Adventure would look almost identical, however the only difference is that the robot in the capsule is double Sonic's size whereas Silver Sonic II is almost exactly as big as Sonic.
		Sonic would later be restored by the power of his 1 Billionth collected Power Ring, and though he was put on trial for his crimes as Mecha Sonic, he would clear his name.
		Mecha Sonic made a shorter appearance later on when he and Tails were transformed into robots by an alien race, to fight Dr. Robotnik and Snively (who had been transformed back into organics) in order to prove which was superior - robots or organics.

		Sonic is busted for treason: i.e., for allegedly disobeying orders and going ahead with the plan he'd proposed back in the beginning of "Rage...." This is the set-up for issue 40's "court martial of Sonic" plot, and frankly it's even more implausible than the whole atom bomb business.
		Then, too, Uncle Chuck clearly stated in the "Sonic Conversion" episode of the TV series that roboticized Mobians are aware of what's going on around them: "we just can't do anything about it." Sonic even demonstrated this by his hesitancy to shoot Tails several pages back.

		In another one of the few stories Spaz has drawn, the end of Archie's Sonic Adventure 2 adaptation features Sonic realizing that he has to go in a different direction unless he wants to be run over.

		From the beginning he was a pawn for his creator Dr Gerald Robotnik, and later he fought alongside Sonic to save the world at the end of SA2, then again in Sonic Heroes.
		So seeing as there's no Eggman to be seen anywhere while Eggrobo stalls Knuckles while Mecha Sonic swipes the Master Emerald, it's believable that the robots are acting without his permission or knowledge.
		Sonic Team didn't design sprites for Eggrobo to be seen from the front, like Eggman is in that particular boss fight.
