Topic: Mechanical equilibrium

  IAHE - Mechanical Link
Developed in the late ’70s by French osteopath Paul Chauffour, Mechanical Link is a gentle manual therapy that encourages the balance of tensions in the fascial system — that complex web of tissue that interconnects and affects all other body systems.
Mechanical Link therapy is guided by the body’s own wisdom about its unique needs.
Mechanical Link brings tension into equilibrium and allows the body to return to optimal functioning ability, so all its systems can improve — including the immune system.

 Mechanical Equilibrium
We are now ready to consider objects in equilibrium.
Basically, we say that a body is in equilibrium if the vector sum of the forces and torques are zero.
The rule of thumb is that if the body is a point source, or all of the forces act at the same point on the body, then we do not need to consider rotational equilibrium.

Actual mechanical advantage, Mechanical advantage, Theoretical mechanical.   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-31)
In physics and engineering, mechanical advantage (MA) is the factor by which a mechanism multiplies the force put into it.
Typically this is a fairly large difference, leading to a proportionately large mechanical advantage.
This allows even simple wheels with wooden axles running in wooden blocks to still turn freely, because their friction is overwhelmed by the rotational force of the wheel multiplied by the mechanical advantage.

Ginsberg Scientific - FORCE & MASS
What makes this unit so special is an internal sliding weight mechanism that allows you to neutralize all factors after the fulcrum and positions of force have been established.
These sets are designed to teach students the concepts of force and mechanical equilibrium as they relate to pulley arrangements.
Mechanical Oscillator on an Air Trac - (Harmonic Action Air Track) Used to study harmonic motion and relationships between vibration and mass.

 Mechanical engineering industry, Mechanical industry.
Newton's theory of mechanics, known as classical mechanics, accurately represented the effects of forces under all conditions known in his time.
It can be divided into statics, the study of equilibrium, and dynamics, the study of motion caused by forces.
Though classical mechanics fails on the scale of atoms and molecules, it remains the framework for much of modern science and technology.
