		In 1977, MECO's version of the Title Theme and the Cantina Band Theme of Star Wars reached #1 in the pop lists all around the world, and got Platinum for sales over 2 million copies (something that at that time was only attained by 100 other singles in the last 50 years of Pop music).
		Meco, who had already produced some of the early Disco hits by Carol Douglas and Gloria Gaynor, thought that producing disco versions of orchestral music from the movies were the perfect playground for this kind of sound.
		Although Meco wanted to learn drums, his father made him to change his mind and at age nine he took up trombone, joining the high school band when he was only in the sixth grade.

		Meco designed the machine in collaboration with one of its existing customers that uses etching to produce antennas for smart cards.
		Meco says that while etched antennas cost around 0.05 euros each to make, antennas produced using its system would cost less than 0.015 euros each (70 percent cheaper) to manufacture.

		This is another MECO song I had never heard until this CD, so I can't compare it with the original.
		It's hard to envision this song without the Sandskrit singing chorus, but here it is. MECO tries to capture the ending Jedi duel's intensity, but for me, the chorus is what made the piece intense in the first place.
		But sure to also pick up "Best of MECO" for versions of some songs that, while perhaps edited in their own right, are more "pure" and capture MECO's spirit from twenty years ago.
