Media conglomerate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A media conglomerate describes companies that own large numbers of companies in various mass media such as television, radio, publishing, movies, and the Internet.
A conglomerate is a large company that consists of divisions of seemingly unrelated businesses.
Critics have accused the larger conglomerates of dominating media, especially news, and refusing to publicize or deem "newsworthy" information that would be harmful to their other interests, and of contributing to the merging of entertainment and news at the expense of tough coverage of serious issues.

 RE: Media Conglomerate Packages
I think it's time to leverage a large portion of a budget with one media company -- the current state of consolidation is reeking havoc on CPMs across the board, particularly in spot market situations.
The media companies are certainly leveraging their position with their vendors, as well as with their advertisers, and there should be opportunity to obtain CPM discounts, and added value/integration.
I think the ability to launch an integrated campaign across multiple media is one of the only benefits of the current state of consolidation, and if done right, can add impact to a selling message.
