The transmitter Steinkimmen is a facility of the NDR for FM- and TV-broadcasting at Ganderkesee-Steinkimmen, Germany.

 Mainflingen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mainflingen is a small town of about 3800 inhabitants, part of the municipality Mainhausen (near Frankfurt am Main) in Hessen, Germany.
The reason that it is rather well-known is that it is the site of the DCF77 radio station which broadcasts the official standard time as given by the atomic clocks of the PTB Braunschweig.
A second facility, called "Mainflingen C" is used for transmitting the programme of the "Evangeliumsrundfunk" (until January 1st, 1995 the programme of "Deutschlandfunk") on the medium wave frequency 1539 kHz.

Anyway it appears that the 1000 kW transmitter is gone, no such rig appears on any of the pictures, instead there seems to be plenty of empty space in the transmitter hall.
And Mainflingen: http://rmrc.de/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=album10 The first pictures shows the mediumwave transmitters, certainly it is no problem to identify the two 350 kW units from the sixties.
Never saw the transmitter but suspected that it was a stolen TIS transmitter.

The transmitter in Exmouth has a power of 40 kW, and was heard in 1993 with programming produced by the Australian Armed Forces Radio.
Plans are that the transmitters will be kept in place ready to be taken into use should it be necessary in an emergency situation or whenever DRM should become relevant.
The second MW transmitter (1116 kHz) has been installed and is operational at full power; we now have two MW transmitters operational at the Dorale site.

Programmes have been from R B2-92 and R Drina (though when R B2-92 being on the air they have announced "R B2-92 in co-operation with our friends at Radio Sombor" and at such times the programmes are in parallel with 666 kHz).
The transmitter is most likely from Hungary, maybe ex-Szolnok transmitter with 135 kW (or more).
Radio B2-92 programmes can also be heard on >mediumwave via Radio Sombor on 666 and 1188 kHz.

Hi, since Easter I observe the German transmitter (Mainflingen) on 1539 kHz on the air quite late in the night (ex s/off at local midnight which is now 2200 UTC during DST).
Yesterday I heard it before 0100 UTC, during Easter holidays it was on even later I think...

I was surprised that RAI was on at this time.
IRELAND: The former 500 kW Atlantic 252 transmitter at Trim, Co Meath in Ireland has dropped continuous music and now carries a repeated 10 minute loop tape (changed each day) of what TEAMtalk 252's output will sound like (sports news and interviews - all football yesterday (Jan 3), more variety of sports today).
