 Counties of Croatia
The names of the counties are given in adjectival form, until 7 Feb 1997, preceded by Zupanija, since then Zupanija follows the name; the exception is Grad Zagreb (city of Zagreb).
The current 20 counties were established 22 Dec 1990 by the constitution of Croatia, however the first governments were instituted on 4 May 1993.
11 Mar 1996 - 5 Jun 1997 Zagrebacka zupanija merged into Grad Zagreb.
