The Melbourne Storm hit the NRL competition in 1998 with a force nobody thought possible.
But, under Murray, the Storm failed to make the finals in consecutive seasons and he was shown the door, with Craig Bellamy – Wayne Bennett’s assistant at the Broncos – given the job.
This season, the Storm again reached the second week of the finals, only to lose to eventual premiers the Bulldogs, the very team that ended their season the year before.

As Tropical Storm Gabrielle was moving onshore southwest Florida, an outer rainband produced a persistent tornado-producing cell which brushed the Sebastian Inlet area (about 7:25 AM), causing minor damage, then produced F-0 damage in the Melbourne area on the east end of the Melbourne causeway (about 7:55 AM), at the Anchorage Yacht Basin (photo above).
The severe storms were part of a line of storms associated with an advancing cold front which moved into the area.

You see, there has been so many dates given by the Victoria State Bracks Government that you would have to forgive any sports loving fan in Melbourne whether they will see the light of day with a finished new stadium.
Early this year both Melbourne Storm and Melbourne Victory members were told that they would have to find other car parking arrangements from Round 10 of this years NRL season as construction would begin on the new stadium.
As I have said before the stadium builders will be told as part of the terms and conditions of the contract that the stadium be built and ready for the first game for Melbourne Victory in the 2010/2011 season.
