During the hearing, it was determined that the student had violated three school policies: 502.8, student to student harassment/bullying; 503.1, student conduct; and 502.7, weapons, which covers weapons, look-alike weapons and the threat of weapons, according to Superintendent Lynn Evans.
According to Evans, the student will be barred from school property and all school events during that time.
Evans noted that although the student is expelled, he is still considered a student in the district; however, he cannot attend classes.

Reverend Joseph H. Evans, D.D., holds the distinction of being of the first and only African American to hold the positions of both Secretary and President of a mainline church denomination in the United States.
Evans was born on August 15, 1915 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
In 1983, Evans retired from the UCC but remained an active pastor for another five years, serving as interim pastor at churches in Columbus, Ohio, Chicago, Illinois, Portland, Maine, Amherst, New Hampshire, and Norwell, Massachusetts.

Melvin Lindsey (1955-1992) was an African-American radio and television personality in the Washington, DC area widely known for originating the "Quiet Storm" late-night music programming format.
Lindsey began his broadcast career as an intern at Howard University radio station WHUR-FM.
Melvin Lindsey tragically died of AIDS in 1992, but the Quiet Storm format he originated remains a staple in radio programming today, almost 30 years after its inception.
