Baptists from three N.C. Associations were quick to bring aid to the victims of a tornado that hit the Pender County town of Rocky Point on Aug. 13.
Three people died, 17 homes were destroyed and a number of other residences damaged by the tornado associated with Tropical Storm Bonnie.
Melvin Hall, director of missions for the Wilmington Association, said Baptists were on the scene by 11 a.m.

The architects for Penn Engineering’s newest building, to be raised on the site of the old Pender Laboratory, are the husband-and-wife New York team of Tod Williams and Billie Tsien.
