  Palm Sunday Tornado Outbreak - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The tornadoes were nearly relentless, occurring in a 450-mile swath west-to-east from Clinton County, Iowa, to Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and a 200-mile swath north-to-south from Kent County, Michigan, to Montgomery County, Indiana.
This is the third deadliest day for tornadoes on record, trailing the Super Outbreak of April 3, 1974, which killed 315 and the outbreak that included the Tri-State Tornado which killed 747.
The tornado then overtopped a hill and destroyed the small community of Island Lake, killing one more person before ascending back into the clouds at 3:42 P.M. This was one of a handful of F4 tornadoes that occurred during this outbreak.

The Wichita Falls Tornado is the tornado event that occurred on April 10, 1979.
This tornado was the most notable of thirteen tornadoes that ripped through the Red River Valley on the day commonly called "Terrible Tuesday" by many meterologists.
The Wichita Falls tornado alone killed 42 people, a death toll which was unmatched until the Oklahoma Tornado Outbreak in 1999.

A tornado with winds estimated at between 113 and 157 mph touched down in Talbot County, MD near the town of Cordova.
In Pennsylvania, tornadoes were reported in Millersville, Schoenck, near Norristown, and Allentown.
Other possible tornadoes (unconfirmed) were reported in: Maybrook, NY (Orange County); Greenport, NY (Columbia County); Stroudsburg, PA (Monroe County); Dover, PA (York County); and Palmyra, PA (Lebanon County).

 Make A Difference Day
Inspired by the memory of Timothy Young, a 16-year-old from a nearby town who'd died of leukemia, the kids raised just over $5,000 for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Added to bake sales and penny pitches from other classes, the school's total donation was $6,817.45.
The day began with a pancake breakfast paid for by a donation of one pair of socks and ended with a sock hop.
As they wrote in their Make A Difference Day essay: "It's a pretty rough area and some of us were a little scared about going there, but nothing bad happened." Then they headed over to The Mustard Seed, a Worcester soup kitchen, where they served a meal to needy customers.
