Pressler is the founder of the Beaux Arts Trio, the standard to which chamber music has been held for the past 50 years.
Pressler has done countless interviews for features in newspapers and magazines around the world, and while he doesn't eschew media attention, he gets tired of being asked the same questions about the origins of the Beaux Arts Trio, and about recording versus playing a concert.
Though Pressler has had his share of downs - feeling at times that he wasn't appreciated, or that he was running himself into a brick wall, musically - that music, he says, has been both the caviar of his life and the bread for his soul.
