In 1890 farmers grew 63 bales of cotton on 101 acres, or 2½ percent of the county's improved land; in 1900, 2,129 acres, or 28 percent of the improved land, produced 928 bales; and in 1930, 7,687 acres, or 46 percent of the cropland harvested, produced 933 bales.
