In common with all of Meopta’s current range; it is constructed of tough cast steel, has smooth twin railed bellows focusing, easy head elevation by geared crank handle, magnification scale on column, wall /floor projection facility, a red swing filter and a tough wooden baseboard.
The enlarger head is fitted with a colour filter drawer for printing with variable contrast papers and has a double concave glass condenser, covering negatives up to 24x36mm.
The dichroic diffusion colour head with Stepless filtration of up to 200 (Meopta) units of Yellow, Magenta and Cyan is provided by 3 illuminated dials, which are located on the front of the head.

I tried a Meopta 7x50, it's great, but the parallax eror at the closer ranges (less than 50 yards) is too big an issue.
Incidentally, I'm assuming that your Meopta is parralzed for 100 yds.
Interesting on the Meoptas; your assumption on 100 yards is correct - is the paralax range fixed for each model, i.e.

During the war, Meopta had a relationship with the German firm of Feinapparate-Bau (code flm), which itself had a relationship with Zeiss*.
There were versions of the Zeiss (blc) 25x100 marked with the flm code, so that may explain how Meopta or Somet managed to produce the Binar for civilian use after the war.

As another owner of the Meopta AZ-2 excursion microscope I have read your article on the same with great interest.
As I intend to write an article about this very interesting instrument for the magazine of the Dutch Microscopical Society, I wonder if you could provide me with the Numerical Aperture (N.A.) of the 3 objectives and with the period during which this microscope was manufactured.
A slide with a small piece of this wire was photographed through the same objective and then with the aid of Adobe Photoshop inserted in the picture.

The Meopta corp (formerly Optitechna before 1945) of Prerov, Czechoslovakia made a series of Flexaret Twin Lens Reflex cameras (models I, II, III, IV, VI).

I was equally surprised one day when a customer called me from New Zealand and mentioned that he has long hunted over a Meopta riflescope, of which he had nothing but praise.

Images were not produced on high quality film and images have magentized, but Meopta reels remain very desirable because much of their scenic reels feature locales in Eastern Europe, that are only avalable on Meopta reels.
All Meopta reels are viewable in any View-Master viewer.

When shot the film is cut with a special cutter (there is a stereo version of the cutter shown below - but the single cutter will do the job if you have the patience!).
You end up with 12 x 13mm slide transparencies which can then be used in standard viewmaster personal reel mounts (or evae in the Meopta version of the Viewmaster if you want to be different).
Meopta are still in business and are based in Bratislava in Slovakia (They no longer manufacture stereo cameras).

The person who owns it also has a Swarovski (dont know the exact model) and said that the difference between the Meopta and Swarovski is negligible.
He said that he bought the Meopta for around $800.
He also said that 3/4 more angled are sold than straight and that it is a matter of getting used to it.

I came across some sterling reviews of the Meopta Range of spotting scopes any was wandering if anyone had experience digiscoping with them.
I've never used a Meopta scope, but they have a good pedigree....
I don"t have a digital camera and really can't say how good a digiscope the Meopa would be:perhaps the sharpness across the field mightn't be quite good enough.

Meopta makes Leica thread lensboards for their enlargers, as well as boards to fit the Meopta thread.
There are some dealers who sell Meopta equipment in the USA; I picked up some used accessories several years ago at Darkroom Aids in Chicago, and I've seen Meopta enlargers in local camera shops (I use an Opemus 5 enlarger with the Leica board and a Nikkor lens).
