List of craters on Callisto - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Callisto, one of the many moons of Jupiter, is the most heavily cratered moon in the solar system.
Many Callistoan craters have been given names, most of which are taken from the mythologies of the peoples of the Arctic Circle, although some are from Greek myths relating to the nymph Callisto.
Here is a list of all craters on Callisto that have been given names.

The rim of the crater was approximately 10 meters (32 feet) from the rover.
The crater is estimated to be 20 meters (65 feet) in diameter.
Scientists were intrigued by the abundance of rock outcrops dispersed throughout the crater, as well as the crater's soil, which appeared to be a mixture of coarse gray grains and fine reddish grains.

In particular, as Doug's enlarged image of the crater shows, the three-dot pattern suggested to be the airbags could be matched to a thousand locations in that MOC image alone.
It was originaly suspected that the crater visible in these images might have been produced by Beagle 2 impacting the surface at very high speed, not that Beagle 2 may have come down IN the pre-existing crater itself.
The crater was clearly too large to have been created by the Beagle impact, as noted on the MSSS page.

At least for the dunes of Russell Crater, however, the researchers conclude that: "liquid water may be stable over a limited period around noon/early afternoon in late spring/early summer under current climatic conditions,"--and likely within the last thousand years.
Depending on when Russell Crater is photographed, it may appear shrouded by dust and haze, or show remarkably clear erosion patterns on its sculpted dunes.
Based on the lack of small craters in the dune fields, the team estimates its surface age at 100 to 10,000 years--a recent soil pattern.

PDT on April 23, the rover team decided that although "Fram Crater" was an intriguing depression, the potential hazards and the time involved in investigating it made it more of a tour stop than a destination.
With the goal of "Endurance Crater" in mind, the rover finished its investigation of the rock called "Pilbara." A final Moessbauer spectrometer measurement was taken, and then the miniature thermal emission spectrometer studied the recently carved rock abrasion tool hole.

Spirit's exit from the landing platform was delayed for three days because of problems with one of the airbags that cushioned the landing of the transport vehicle on Mars after a seven month journey from Earth.
Spirit's landing site - Gusev Crater - is believed to have harbored a vast lake in the distant past and the major goal of the rover mission is to find out if water might have existed on the martian surface long enough for life to have evolved.
Luckily, a 650-foot-wide crater is within reach of Spirit, a mere 820 feet or so away from its current position.
