		Watson's son, Poindexter, was arguably the most famous of the Gentrys, nationally, in the nineteenth century, and one might add, in the twentieth century as well.
		Meredith refused to run for representative in 1843, after the death of his first wife, but agreed to run again in 1845 and served for four more terms as representative from the seventh district, in 1845, 1847, 1849, and 1851.
		Meredith was in ill-health during the later years of his life and had lost most of his land and money as a result of the war.

		The first document found was dated 04 Nov. 1829 when Alfred W. "Medearis", brother to Thomas, witnessed a deed in Carroll County, Georgia.
		Thomas was a resident of Warren County, Georgia, in 1834 according to a Campbell County, deed in which Thomas sold 202 1/2 acres in Campbell County, to Burgess Gentry.
