MerlinSereldVictorGilbert Hay, 24thEarl of Erroll, (b 20 April1948) is a cross-bench member of the House of Lords, Chief of Scottish clan Hay, and hereditary Lord High Constable of Scotland.
He is the son of Sir Iain Moncreiffe of that Ilk, 11th Baronet and Diana Denyse Hay, 23rd Countess of Erroll.
Erroll has worked as a marketing and computer consultant, is a Freeman of the City of London and a Member, Court of Assistants of Worshipful Company of Fishmongers and was Prime Warden of the Company in 2000-01.
Sir Gilbert Hay, the 5th Lord Erroll, was an ally of Robert the Bruce and participated in the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314.
The 6th Earl of Erroll was killed at the Battle of Neville's Cross in 1346.
