Merlyn Rees, Baron Merlyn-Rees, PC (born 1920), was a British (The people of Great Britain) Labour (Productive work (especially physical work done for wages)) party Member of Parliament (An elected member of the British Parliament: a member of the House of Commons) from 1963 until 1992.
In that year, he was created a Baron and entered the House of Lords (The upper house of the British parliament).
For two years before the Labour government came to power in 1974 he had been Labour Party spokesman on Northern Ireland (A division of the United Kingdom located on the northern part of the island of Ireland).
