Michael Meade called the house on the corner of Merrion and Ailesbury Road, St. Michael's and interestingly a large statue of the same saint ornaments his grave opposite the main gate of Glasnevin Cemetery.

A number of parties have appealed planning permission granted by Dublin City Council for the proposed 56,834 sq m (611,75 sq ft) office scheme on the 14-acre grounds of the existing 1970s-built bankcentre.
Tom and Helen Marren with an address at Claremont Road in Sandymount say they live adjacent to the bankcentre premises, and have no objection in principle to the scheme if it is set back from Serpentine Avenue with a height and scale similar to the existing AIB office block.
Chartered town planners Stephen Little and Associates on behalf of 13 residents of Serpentine Terrace and avenue said the rotation of the front of the AIB bankcentre from Merrion Road to Serpentine Road is "wholly inappropriate" because it is on a residential road.

Taxi driver wasn't too sure exactly which part of the RDS Merrion Hall was opposite, as Ballsbridge has many bed and breakfasts along Merrion Road.
The adjoining reading room allowed luggage to be deposited, provided plenty of books on travel in Ireland, golf, fishing, tours and tourist information, and the china cabinet displayed crystal and beautiful chinaware, no doubt with family pride.
The dining room, open from 7am, provides a full Irish breakfast, and Merrion Hall has previously won the 'Irish Breakfast of the year' award.
