	Help Philadelphia Zoo Elephants Petition
		The Philadelphia Zoo - the oldest zoo in the U.S. - wants to raise $20 million to replace its cramped, 1940s-era concrete elephant exhibit currently housing four elephants with a new habitat and bring in three additional elephants.
		Elephants in captivity regularly suffer from chronic arthritis and foot abscesses (the two main causes of death in captive elephants) due to lack of proper exercise and standing on hard surfaces.
		Elephants in colder climate zoos such as the Philadelphia Zoo are kept inside for days on end on cold cement during the winter months, suffering extreme boredom and developing irreversible neurotic behaviors.

	Zookeeper mauled by lion at Mesker Zoo
		A zookeeper on the job for less than a month was mauled by a lion at Mesker Park Zoo and Botanic Gardens Wednesday morning.
		Marketing Manager Melanie Wentz said the zoo was closed after the incident and remained closed as police and zoo officials conducted an investigation.
		"Many of our zoo workers continued doing their jobs but they were distraught," Wentz said.

		It is not known how the dogs got into the zoo.
		Dogs killed more than a dozen wallabies at the Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend in 2002, and in 1997 they were suspected in an attack that left five antelope dead in Evansville's Mesker Park Zoo.

		When Bunny arrived at the Sanctuary she suffered from painful, infected feet.
		This condition was chronic but had not gone unnoticed by her keepers at Mesker Park Zoo.
