Meskowski was the builder of some of the finest sprint cars in the world, such famous names as Bryan, Branson, Bettenhausen and Larson had driven for Wally.
Driving for Wally could lead Foyt to the Speedway on the other side of 16th street.

In November of 1971, Dawley purchased a different sprint car chassis, a Meskowski, which he drove for six years.
Unable to race at Jackson because his sprint car was not leagal there, he raced at Knoxville and at other tracks throughout the United States and even into Canada through the '70s.
