The rise of Messianic Judaism in the late 1960's and early 1970's represents as much a new direction and a discontinuity with the "Hebrew Christian" movement as it represents a continuity.
It represented a decision to form "Messianic synagogues" that were not part of historic Protestant denominations, but were free to be Jewish congregations maintaining a Jewish calendar and life-style as they recognized Yeshua as the Messiah.
The Jesus movement that was outside the denominations saw many young Jews come to faith in Jesus, and this produced a notable influx of new young believers into the Young Hebrew Christian Alliance.
