	Messier Dowty - Happy Birthday Messier-Dowty !
		George Dowty was not only an engineer but also a great inventor: he was the author of over 150 inventions, including the Dowty landing gear.
		George Dowty began his engineering career at the age of fourteen, as an apprentice at Heenan and Froude’s engineering works.
		Dowty held several engineering positions in various aviation companies, before joining the Gloucestershire Aircraft Co. in 1924.
