  METHYLENEDIOXYMETHAMPHETAMINE USE SIGNS
Methylenedioxymethamphetamine produces effects, which are unpredictable and mild.
When Methylenedioxymethamphetamine is taken in excess then it can cause effects which are similar to those of amphetamines like impatience, faintness, increased heartbeat, sweating, and so on.
It is not uncommon for the users of methylenedioxymethamphetamine to rub their hands on different items constantly, smelling and tasting different drinks and foods.

On the basis of the data outlined above, it was the consensus of the committee that 3,4 Methylenedioxymethamphetamine met the criteria of article 2, para 4, for the control under the Convention on Psychotropic Substances.
Since there is insufficient evidence to indicate that the substance has therapeutic usefulness, the expert committee recommended that it be placed in Schedule 1 of the Convention*.
While the Expert Committee found the reports intriguing, it felt that the studies lacked the appropriate methodological design necessary to ascertain the reliability of the observations.

Ecstasy, also known as MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine), is a stimulant that combines the effects of amphetamines and hallucinogens.
Its chemical structure (3-4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine, "MDMA") is similar to methamphetamine, methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), and mescaline - other synthetic drugs known to cause brain damage.
In addition, in high doses it can cause a sharp increase in body temperature (malignant hyperthermia) leading to muscle breakdown and kidney and cardiovascular system failure.
