 Greek Architecture
No other civilization’s architecture has been as widely praised and copied as that of Greece, as it has been accepted as the standard by which all periods of architecture may be tested.
By far, the most impressive examples of Greek architecture are of the high Classical period (c.450-400 b.c.) and were constructed under Pericles for the Athenian Acropolis.
It is a representation of the virtues that Classical architecture has had on architecture throughout the ages, those of harmony, freedom, and order.

 GREEK ARCHITECTURE
The Minoans were conquered by the Mycenaeans of mainland Greece, whose architecture was subsequently strongly influenced by Cretan prototypes.
This early Greek architecture (3000-700 BC) is characterized by the use of massive stone blocks for walls and by the occasional use of corbeled masonry to make primitive forms of vaults and domes, as in the Lion Gate and so-called Treasury of Atreus at MYCENAE (1400-1200 BC).
Metope panels were sometimes carved to illustrate events in the lives of heroes or demigods, such as scenes from the labors of Hercules or the struggles of the Lapiths and Centaurs.

 Tiryns
For the use of the triglyph and metope scheme on temples, a number of Bronze Age buildings and depictions of buildings with the triglyph and rosette frieze higher up are cited as prototypes.
On the acropolis of Tiryns a large deposit of 8th-5th-century pottery and cult objects and 7th-century architectural fragments was unearthed.
Both of the other schools of thought regarded it as a fact that the smaller structure was built immediately after the palace burned-500 years did not elapse between the destruction of the palace and the construction of its successor.
