Metropolitan Area Express (MAX) is a light rail system in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area.
The simulated MAX car prop was built from a discarded TriMet articulated bus and a Type-1 LRV that was retired in the 1980s after a collision damaged it badly enough to be deemed beyond repair.
The bus, which was extensively used to transport commuters between Portland and Westside suburbs, 12 Sandy Blvd route, and select express routes until the 1998 extension of MAX Blue Line replaced the articulated bus service.

The ancestor of what we now know as video description was born in 1981 when The Metropolitan Washington Ear, a radio reading service for the blind which operates in the Washington, DC area, developed "audio description" in connection with theatrical productions at Arena Stage and then other theaters in the Washington area.
During theatrical performances in the area's major theaters trained volunteers describe stage scenery, lighting, costumes, body language and actions through a tiny radio earpiece to visually limited patrons seated anywhere in the audience.
A resident of the Washington D.C. area since 1940, Margaret Pfanstiehl was born Margaret Woodland on October 10, 1932 in Hilton Village,Virginia.

No record is known of what became of this office or how it might have been used (although see Ronada Court, Piedmont in Hines).
