Knowsley is a metropolitan borough in Merseyside, England.
The village of Knowsley (one of those in the Whiston RD) pre-dates the neighbouring city of Liverpool by hundreds of years — it was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, whereby it was known as Chenulveslei.
There are a few notable entries in Knowsley's history — Henry VII visited in 1495; Shakespeare is said to have performed in a play held in Knowsley in 1589 and Capability Brown is responsible for some of the fine landscaping of Knowsley in the 1700s.

Knowsley North was a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1983 until 1997.
The constituency covered the northern part of the metropolitan borough of Knowsley, prinicpally the town of Kirkby.
Following a review by the Boundary Commission in 1995, the constituency was expanded at the 1997 general election to form the new Knowsley North and Sefton East constituency.

Knowsley Council have set up another 'Trust' to manage the office block, Knowsley Development Trust will manage the building, and it's another 'not for profit' scheme.
Knowsley Housing Trust seems to be taking SRB funds to save their own allocated money - no doubt to give them all a big pay rise, the managers that is. Basically a giveaway for contractors, it would be interesting to see how the contracts were awarded for ALL contractors involved with SRB projects.
Knowsley Primary Care Trust is thought to be behind this project but there's no mention of them in the Northwood in a Nutshell report.

Kirkby Times has been passed the official KHT plans for the flats on Roughwood Drive.(Photo Gallery of hundreds of photos here) Knowsley Housing Trust did move tenants in 'preparation for demolition' but now have 'just decided' that they could sell the flats to developers.
Kirkby Times warned that KHT deliberately allowed the flats to be subject to vandalism and junkies and a lack of any investment.
It allows Knowsley to assess another option in housing provision and the treatment of redundant housing assets, which may be able to be replicated elsewhere in the Borough, if successful.
