		While patter as shown in a book should always be modified or changed completely to suit your particular style, I find it helpful when authors include patter in an effect to provide the state-of-mind the originator of the effect had when it was created.
		I would rate "The Magic of Michael Ammar" as an intermediate work for the close up magician.
		I think there are other books better for the beginner to start with, but once a student of magic becomes serious about his or her work, "The Magic of Michael Ammar" should definitely be added to his or her Magic Library.
