 Columbia Lost
Astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria conceded such a trip outside and beneath the orbiter -- where there is nothing for a pressure-suited astronaut to hang on to -- would have been especially difficult because Columbia was not equipped with a robotic arm on this mission.
Alegria, in an interview Wednesday with Florida Today, said astronauts discuss before a mission how to make an emergency spacewalk on the underside of the orbiter.
Michael Anderson and Dave Brown would have been the ones to make an emergency spacewalk.
