Michael Lee Moorer (born November 12, 1967 near Pittsburgh) is a former boxer who has been a world champion in the light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions.
Moorer is a native of the Pittsburgh suburb of Monessen, PA, but for most of his career, he trained under the tutelage of hall of fame trainer Emanuel Steward in Detroit.
Moorer scored knockouts in each of his first 29 bouts, placing him in the exclusive list of boxers who have won at least 20 fights in a row by knockout, alongside such other fighters as Foreman, Wilfredo Gomez, Carlos Zarate, John Mugabi, Khaosai Galaxy and Aaron Pryor.

Moorer, who now lives in Boca Raton, Fla., has not fought since that loss to Holyfield, which kept him from regaining the IBF and WBA heavyweight titles he had won in 1994.
Moorer's handlers testified that Smith received some $65,850 in payments and more than $20,000 in fight tickets, plane tickets, hotel rooms and meals -- which was in excess of the 5 percent amount on Moorer's purses for the length of the 1988 contract.

Moorer won the heavyweight championship from Evander Holyfield in April 1994, but lost it seven months later when 45-year-old George Foreman crashed a mammoth right into his lip and became the oldest man to win the title.
