Michael Sheard, who played Adolf Hitler five times in an acting career that also saw him strangled by Darth Vadar in a Star Wars sequel, has died at the age of 65.
Sheard, a native of Scotland, died near his home on the Isle of Wight in the south of England, with his wife and children at his bedside.
Sheard's many film roles included Admiral Ozzel in The Empire Strikes Back, in which he was choked to death by Darth Vader in a memorable scene that earned him cult status around the world.

Michael was having a drink when I found him at the party but had a quizzical look on his face.
It seemed like every 3 steps we stopped to talk to fans who wanted to say hello to Michael or get an autograph or take a photo or do a short video interview and you would think from his reaction that it was always the first time he was recognized.
Michael surely touched a lot of lives over the years and I'm proud to have been associated with him in my small way.
