Steele could’ve called the council on this grandstanding, explaining in a press conference the dire consequences, to this country and Iraq, of such a desperate decision.
Steele is behind in the most recent polls—losing to front-runner Rep. Ben Cardin by a 49-41 margin, according to the Nov. 16 Rasmussen Report, and up a point over Kweisi Mfume—and his unequivocal anti-abortion position is at odds with not only most Democrats but some independents and Republicans as well.
I hope that once Steele gets his campaign in high gear he won’t be weak-kneed on Iraq or pander to the polls and the “Bush lied!” crowd.

Steel with increased carbon content can be made harder and stronger than iron, but is also more brittle.
One classical definition is that steels are iron-carbon alloys with up to 5.1 percent carbon; ironically, alloys with higher carbon content than this are known as iron.
Currently there are several classes of steels in which carbon is replaced with other alloying materials, and carbon, if present, is undesired.

Together with Michael Steel and sisters Debbi and Vikki Peterson, Hoffs entered the 80s with a distinct plan of attack that that would set them firmly between the nebulous arenas where disco was decomposing and new wave was rising from its remains.
Her replacement came in the form of former Runaway, Michael Steele, who slid into position just in time to make the record that would birth the fringe hit single "Hero Takes A Fall." With a heavy college radio push and strong reviews, the album gave the girls enough steam to achieve a healthy MTV presence.
It also captured the attention of a fellow musician, whose supposed infatuation with Bangles lead singer Susanna Hoffs, led to his contribution of a song for their sophomore effort.

It’s possible, should Steele prevail in November and the GOP clings to its majority, the freshman senator might be in store for some mild retribution--Bush has a long memory--but the prospect of showcasing Steele as an example of the GOP’s growing "diversity" will surely trump a few pointed barbs in the summer of 2006.

The problem is that 12 percent would be consistent with a year in which Republicans did not win a single new fl vote, and Steele has been collecting key endorsements from Democrats in the fl community, and should do much better than the average Republican.
