Governor DiSalle's Interim Commission was destined to play a key role in the establishment of the Medical College of Ohio.
Visits to Toledo, Dayton, Akron and Cleveland and the campuses of Miami, Bowling Green, Kent State and Ohio universities had convinced him that none of the presidents was particularly seeking a medical school for their institutions, although each had indicated they would take that responsibility if the state delegated it to them.
