 An Introduction
Michel Gauthier worked for years as a still photographer in the film and TV industry of Montreal until he became involved with the movement to preserve the rivers and falls of Quebec.
Michel recognizes that it may well take another twenty years to obtain the necessary protection for all of the rivers of the province, and this has become his life's work.
Roy and Michel began discussing the possibility of creating a foundation for river preservation in July, 2002, and the Fondation Rivières (Rivers Foundation) was created with the goal of opposing the small private dams which the government of Quebec is proposing to have built on rivers throughout the province.
