Sanford Highway Unit, AFSCME v. Town of Sanford, No. 79-50
Ackerman stated that AFSCME misunderstood Sanford's salary offer, explaining that the offer was for a 6 percent increase in the gross salary figure shown on each employee's 1978 W-2 form, a sum which would amount to an actual 1979 salary increase of approximately 10 cents per hour per employee.
Section 961 of the Act states that it is the public policy of the State of Maine to promote the improve- ment of the relationship between public employers and their employees.
The Michigan Supreme Court held (227 N.W. 2d at 746): "The action of the Crestwood school board in discharging teachers for striking in violation of the provisions of the PERA [Public Employment Relations Act] prior to the hiring of replacements was not violative of that Act.

 Michigan State Highways
The Michigan Department of Transportation does correctly note that "the density of development varies considerably throughout Michigan, with the heaviest concentration existing in the southeast portion of the lower peninsula." Even with this obvious disparity in settlement density, there has always been a level of "geographic equity" in the organization of the state highway system.
The state route marker has always been a diamond and has always contained the familiar "M." In the early years, the diamond was taller than wide, had the words "STATE TRUNKLINE" across the widest part of the diamond, and the "M" and highway number were of the same size.
The state highway system is undergoing some change at present, though, with the potential addition of hundreds (maybe thousands!) of miles of locally maintained roads to the system.

The report stated: "...while the statewide totals declined, alcohol-involved crashes in the checkpoint communities declined, on average, at a rate three and a half times the combined rate of all other communities in the state."[17] California estimates that the checkpoints prevented at least 50 vehicular crashes and saved taxpayers more than $3 million.

On the Official 1935 Michigan State Highway Department map, the portion of M-46 between Kent City and Cedar Springs (17 Mile Rd) is shown as not being a marked trunkline and the two portions of M-46 are not connected with each other.

 Wisconsin Highways: Highways 130-139
This highway is a relatively minor route in north-central Sauk Co running along the original alignment of STH-33 between Reedsburg and Baraboo.
While WisDOT considers STH-138 to be a north-south highway, it can also be argued that it is an east-west highway, since the east-west component of the route (Oregon to Stoughton) is 6.9 miles long and the north-south component (Stoughton to Cooksville) is only 6.1 miles in length.
A year later in 1932, the highway was realigned onto its present-day angling route between Cavour and Newald (except where the highway ran along present-day Kalata Rd) with the former route being turned back to local control.

The first Official Michigan Highway Map without the concurrent M-82/M-120 routing from west of Fremont to Hesperia is issued in 1979, implying the M-82 designation was scaled back in the 1978 season.
Official documents note the highway was only maintained for the first ten miles north of M-28, though, with the remainder to Emerson continuing to be maintained by the county as a county road.
Also on this date, official State Highway Dept sources seem to indicate all of M-131 north of US-31 east of Petoskey to Harbor Springs is removed from the state trunkline system, although it seems this cancellation never takes effect (especially considering in three years, M-131 will be extended northerly from Harbor Springs!).

 Wisconsin Highways: Highways 10-19
To ensure no two highways had the same number—regardless of U.S. or State Trunkline—the western portion of STH-14 from Cassville to Beloit was re-designated as STH-81 (its present designation), and the eastern portion from Beloit to Milwaukee was changed to STH-15, a designation it would retain until replaced by I-43 a half-century later.
Since the highway is a major commuting route and traffic volumes are projected to continue rising, WisDOT is examining possible upgrades in the corridor, including upgrading the existing highway on its present alignment and a potential bypass of Hortonville, either to the north or south.
The "Watertown Bypass" from the southern jct with STH-26 on the northern edge of the city southeasterly to jct STH-19 east of the city is a two-lane, limited-access expressway.
