The Small Renumbering In the early 1960s, the state reorganized its highway system, transferring several routes between town and state control.
State routes are numbered between 2 and 999; however, those above 399 are "Secret" routes, maintained by the state but not signposted.
The state's secret routes were renumbered into a geographically grouped system; for example, routes in Eastern Connecticut were numbered in the 600s.

The good news is that while the number of vehicles on Michigan roads and the number of miles traveled are increasing, traffic crashes and fatalities are not, and this probably is due to a number of actions taken in recent years.
In late 2000 federal legislation was enacted requiring all states either to adopt.08 percent blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) as the presumptive level of intoxication for driving or lose a portion of their federal highway monies.
Michigan's BAC level currently is.10 percent, and legislation to lower it to.08 (HBs 4084 and 4134) was introduced in 2001.

He was elected to the state senate from Delaware County in 1896, and re-elected in 1900, 1904, 1908, 1912, and 1916, and elected as president pro tempore of the senate in 1903 and 1905.
Sproul is also credited with expanding and improving public education, bringing relief and care to disabled war veterans, a major reorganization of the executive branch of state government, peaceful settlement of the steel strike of 1919 and coal strike of 1922, and the administration under which the state Department of Public Welfare was created.
Sproul, although a millionaire, died intestate on March 21, 1928, and is buried in Chester Rural Cemetery, Delaware County.

As over 850 people at the conference were interpreters of flora, fauna, climate, landforms, human-environment interaction, archaeology, and other subjects in state and national parks, museums, and elsewhere, and as I had been co-teaching GPS-topographic mapping workshops all week, a confluence trek seemed particularly appropriate.
After completing teaching another workshop on mapping, aerial imagery, and GPS at Michigan State University, I departed the campus in Lansing, driving northeast on Interstate Highway 69.
This is central Michigan glaciated terrain, and farming is the predominant land use.

April 21, 2007: The Columbia Police Department and the State of Missouri issued the Amber Alert on Saturday afternoon after the suspect failed to return the child to her mother.
The state of Kentucky and the state of Tenessee issued the Amber Alert after the girl was apparently kidnapped by five hispanic males on April 20.

This highway runs largely east-west, and about 90 minutes earlier, I used the same road to visit 43 North 84 West.
I parked west of Stage Road near a row of newer homes on the north side of Highway 21 that clearly were not farmhouses.

MI doesn't have the real big bass, but if you want to follow the PR or bs then the Maitland ramp is in Fort Maitland Park off U.S. Highway 17-92.
Years ago, a local guide told me he was certain the next world-record largemouth bass would come from the Winter Park Chain of Lakes.
So if caught on a rod that would be the state record.

When I was stabilized, I was transferred to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
At Saint Joseph Hospital in Flint, I had a private or semi-private room, but at U of M Hospital, I was placed in a ward on the thirteenth level with about twenty other patients.
This young man had been a student at Michigan State University, Flint Junior College, and was employed at Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing.

These towns were eliminated from version B. Since the Michigan Highway Dept. was founded in 1905 (1955 A contains 50th anniversary message), the 1980-81 A map was probably issued in 1980, while 1980-81 B was probably issued in 1981.
Information for many maps from the 1930s thru the 1950s was taken from photocopies provided by the Michigan Department of Transportation, and is therefore not necessarily complete.
