Mickie Most, born Michael Peter Hayes (June 20, 1938 - May 30, 2003), successful record producer notably with a string of Number 1 hit singles with his own RAK Records label and acts such as The Animals, Herman's Hermits, Donovan and Suzi Quatro.
Most was also a panellist on various television talent shows such as ITV's New Faces and presented Revolver, a program devoted to punk rock which was at odds with his "studio factory" approach to music.
Most was one of the first producers to own the rights to his own records and his RAK Studios, opened in 1976 in St John's Wood, remains active.

Most's commercial instincts were spot-on, and the song became one of Donovan's biggest hits, going Top 5 in both the UK and the USA and Top 10 in Australia.
Most objected to 'hangers-on' in the studio and "a lot of goings-on that I didn't like" so Most gave Donovan an ultimatum -- he was paying for the session, he said, and Donovan could either do it his way or take a walk.

Mickie Most, who has died of cancer in London aged 64, was one of the UK's most successful pop music producers, enjoying consistent hits from 1964 until the mid-1980s.
Most was both talented and incredibly lucky - seeing Newcastle rhythm and blues outfit the Animals at London's Crawdaddy Club, he signed them to EMI with the proviso that he was their producer.
Most won a Grammy at that year's awards and the groups he produced would be at the helm of the British invasion that dominated the US charts for the next two years.
