Microbotics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Microbotics (or microrobotics) is the field of miniature robotics, in particular mobile robots with characteristic dimensions less than 1 mm.
Microbots were born thanks to the appearance of the microcontroller in the last decade of the 20th century, and the appearance of miniature mechanical systems on silicon (MEMS), although many microbots do not use silicon for mechanical components other than sensors.
Because of the microcontroller's smallness and portability, one of the chief characteristics of the microbot is its mobility.

A microbot is a mobile robot with a microcontroller.
Microbots were born thanks to the appearance of the microcontroller in the last decade of the 20th century, because it's the computer that controls the microbots and it's embedded in it.
Because of the microcontroller's smallness and portability, one of the chief characteristics of the microbot is the mobility, because the chip that directs it is embedded.

In the middle of year 2001 the idea arises between a group of students of the ETSII of Valladolid to create a group of investigation and development in the field of the microbotics (art of the mobile and independent small construction of robots).
The necessity to foment the participation of the students of this university in championships related to the microbotics, something very common in most of Spanish technical schools, was one of the motivations that made the sprouting possible of then AMUVA.
Microbotics conferences have been organized, electronics seminars, construction of microbots seminars, visits to companies...

 - Chapter 6
It was not surprising, therefore, that he had taken well to working with Eric, who, heedless of the scientists vying for status in the fast-growing environment that Microbotics offered at the time, had shown no interest in campaigning for self-glorification but saved his energies for the work at hand instead.
So when the schism developed over whether to go with conventional or DNC interfacing, it had been almost predictable that Eric would be the one to defy what eventually emerged as the consensus, and perfectly natural that Corfe would move with him when he left.
He knew that around the time that Eric left Microbotics there had been some controversy over alleged dangers of DNC, but he had been too young at the time to really follow it; and in the years since, life had been too full of other things.

My initial leanings were towards the Microbotics MBX1200Z, which came complete with clock/calendar, SIMM socket, and FPU socket.
In all fairness to Microbotics, I don't believe the problem lies at their end; and once the board is fitted, it makes great contact.
Microbotics is said to be working on a 68040 version of this product, but cost will be prohibitive to most mere mortals.

 40 or 50mhz? - English Amiga Board
The reason I ask is i've had a 50mhz Microbotics card in my 1200 for over a year and while I've been happy wiv the card it's one of those which is not actually recognised at boot up when ya do the press and hold yer mouse button thingy!
The memory is not autoconfig, but the program AutoXA (I assume this is the one you are using) stays resident after resets, so after it runs and you reboot, you have ALL the memory available from startup.
Why do you reckon that is? I haven't try'd the 16meg on th Microbotics yet though.

On the flip side of things, Microbotics is rumored to be making an expander that will allow CD³² owners to expand their units into a full Amiga 1200 computer.
This unit is said to fit into the same expansion slot used by the MPEG module while still allowing the use of the MPEG module.
We probably won't see either version for a considerable period of time, possibly up to six months.
