  Micropaleontology
Micropaleontology, like microbiology, is mostly focused on extremely small organisms, such as one-celled organisms.
Because micropaleontology examines such small organisms, which can only be properly examined through a microscope, it is often seen as a boring area of paleontology, much less exciting than digging up dinosaur bones.
The study of micropaleontology is useful to the average person, as well as to the scientist.

One of them was foraminiferal micropaleontology, taught by one of the best in the field then, Dr. Orville Bandy.
On the other hand, the world is one's oyster if a micropaleontologist is allowed to decipher parts of the geologic record based on pure science.
Regardless of specialty, a micropaleonologist is a forensic geologist who applies scientific knowledge and logical reasoning to interpret and reconstruct events of the past.

RE: [geonet] Question on Micropaleontology Press
While stratigraphy and micropaleontology are related disciplines, the paleontologists working here have more of an interest in obtaining additional materials on micropaleontology than a new journal on stratigraphy.
In addition, I was not happy about the prospect of having to subscribe to "Stratigraphy" as a condition to subscribing to "Micropaleontology," The new price is a really an issue.
Compared with other journal prices, this may be cheap, but it is still a substantial increase.
