		Middleborough (Four Corners), Rock and South Middleborough are the railroad stations; which, with North Middleborough (Titicut) and Eddysville, are the post-offices; the other villages being Namasket, Puddingshire, Tack Factory, Thomastown, Waterville and the Green (at the centre).
		Middleborough sent 406 men into the Union army and navy during the late war, of whom 62 were lost.
		By the census of 1885, it appears there were then 94 persons in the town who were over 80, it who were over 90, and one who was 101 years of age.

		He became identified with the "Separatist" movement, began to preach in 1746, was ordained in Middleborough, Massachusetts, 13 April 1748, and became pastor at Titicut, in that town, of a new Congregational society, which had been formed in consequence of a dispute regarding the settlement of a minister.
		In 1774 he was sent as the agent of the Warren association of Baptist Churches to claim from congress, for the Baptists, the same rights as those accorded other Churches.
		In 1788 he was a delegate to the convention that adopted the federal constitution, and made a speech in its favor.
