The Town of Westminister was a municipality established in 1988 from the former Westminister Township in Ontario.
In 1992, after months of political debates involving the Ontario government, the City of London, and local residents, the proposed annexation was allowed to proceed.
On January 1, 1993, the Town of Westminister ceased to exist and became part of the City of London.

Following the move from a district to a county system of local government, counties were responsible for recording all marriages within their boundaries.
The clerk of Middlesex County began a separate register for marriages in 1852.
Many clergy simply sent a return to the Clerk of District or County where the majority of their marriages were performed even though the return included marriages that were technically from a different county.
