On May 1, 2001, a Midland resident and two Michigan-based environmental organizations petitioned the federal Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) to conduct a public health assessment of DLC contamination in communities adjacent to Midland, Michigan, where contamination originating from the Midland area has been "transported...via air and water" (Attachment A).
