Midland went 67-68 under TL Manager of the Year Don Long in 1991 and won the second-half title, their first half-season title in 9 years, pretty difficult in a 4-team division.
Forbes finished second in the league in average, 1B Chris Pritchett (.308/~.389/.412) was fourth and Palmeiro was 5th.
Midland had one of its best years in 1995, going just 66-70, but taking the first-half title and making it to the finals before falling.

A new league, the Northern Counties League, was formed in 1960 and all the former North Eastern League clubs moved to the new competition.
After a single year without a Midland League, a re-formed competition entitled the Midland Counties League was formed, although common practice was still to refer to it as the "Midland League" and it is usually treated as a continuation of the former competition in reference sources.
When the league wanted to raise its profile, and attract clubs from a wider area, the decision was made to rename the league as the "Midland League" with effect from the 1994-95 season.

The LWV of the Midland Area, established in 1967 with over 90 charter members, endeavors to serve all citizens of Midland County, of which the City of Midland is a part, and attempts to draw members from all parts of the county, provide voter information throughout the county and study topics of interest countywide.

 Hanley Receives 2005 Lloyd Osborn Award
He was known for his dedication to both academic and athletic excellence, and the people of Midland benefited greatly from his presence.
Hanley was honored on Wednesday, May 11, during the Midland Amateur Sports Capital Committee’s luncheon held at Damons Grill.  Lloyd Osborn’s daughter, son and grandson were in attendance.  Hanley's son presented the award to him.
Any individual who is or has been engaged in the coaching or teaching of sports, or has been in a leadership position in organized sports activities in Midland County is eligible to be nominated for the award.  Nominations for the Lloyd Osborn Award are accepted in March.

 The Midland Combination League
The Midland Combination League is one of four leagues at the second level of the FA Women's Pyramid of Football.
It consists of Women's Football Clubs who qualify by becoming the champions of the East or West Midlands Regional Leagues and each season our winner is promoted to the FA Women's Premier League Division One North.
A Development Plan has been prepared and submitted to the FA, and the League will be working closely with clubs in order to bring the standard of organisation and administration as close as possible to that required at a higher level.

Dorothy Turner Scharbauer was born March 9, 1931 to Fred Turner, Jr., and Juliette Miller Turner in Midland County, Texas.

MIDLAND, Mich. – The Michigan Baseball Foundation confirmed today that the organization has a signed purchase agreement with the Battle Creek Devil Rays, a Division A minor league team affiliated with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Final purchase and relocation of the team depends on approval from the Midwest League and the National Association of Professional Baseball.
The team is scheduled to play the 2006 season in its current location and move to Midland in time for the 2007 season.

It was only in 1994 that the Club formed their first Saturday team playing in the Burton and District League.
After being accepted into Division Two, a couple of years of consolidation followed after which the decision was taken to strengthen the football side of the club and start a reserve side.
The following season was a poor one, we finished in the bottom half of the league and were inconsistent for most of the season, Allen Russell resigned in March and Dean Gilbert was appointed the new 1st Team Manager for the following season.
