Midwestern cuisine is a regional cuisine of the American Midwest.
As with most American regional cuisines, Midwestern cooking is heavily influenced by the immigrant groups which settled there.
Minneapolis and Saint Paul are odd in that despite being major cities they do not yet have a traditionally associated cuisine, however because of the strong influx of Asian immigrants over the past few decades, a form which combines traditional Midwestern dishes with Asian techniques and spices is developing.

 Modern Midwestern Thanksgiving - American Regional Cuisine
It was recently brought to my attention that an addition I made to the Midwestern Cuisine section of this web page linked to recipes that are somewhat inaccurate and contrived.
This menu is based on what has become a Midwestern (or at the very least Hoosier) Thanksgiving in the post-WWII era and, as far as I can tell, is fairly typical even up to 2003, thus, it presumes that people have things like "freezers" and "refrigerators" and does not pretend to date back to 16-something.
Another Midwestern family will probably differ from this, and there is even controversy over specifics within my family.
