		Mieczyslaw Karlowicz (December 11, 1876 - February 8, 1909) was a Polish composer, born in the Polish province of Vilna.
		He may have got his talent from his father, Jan, who was a Polish historian and musician.

		Curiously, the interest in Karlowicz and his music happens to be a rather recent development.
		Such problems disappear in this Chandos recording, with Yan Pascal Tortelier and the BBC Philharmonic outstripped Salwarowski and his Silesian in every way possible (aided by Chandos' sound that continues its state of the art recording tradition).
		Now, that Volume I gives us other dimensions behind Karlowicz' art, Volume II expands it more wondrously with the same first class orchestra and a very poetically inclined conductor, Gianandrea Noseda.

		I had never heard of Karlowicz but a review in the media suggested I would be missing something if I did not buy the record.
		Some music can be used as background music but if you listen to Karlowicz in that way you will certainly miss something, above all the orchestration.

		The charming finale is casted with different variations of the main theme and is, I think, even more compelling than the andante.
		This is my first piece by Karlowicz and I was really pleasantly surprised.
