		The eastern limit is settled by the village Boita, on the right side of the river Olt, at its entrance into the pass with the same name, and the western limit is given by the village Jina, with its border, the river Sebes.
		In other respects, Marginimea Sibiului is a territory from the old Dukedom of Almas, with its nucleus in the villages around the castle Salgo, Saliste (Magna Villa Valachicalis), old headquarter of the Chair with the same name, being the most representative.
		The village is situated in the south-western part of the district, at 49 km from Sibiu, at 800 - 1000 m altitude, on the hills near Cindrel Mountains.

		The abundant natural patrimony of Sibiu county is represented by six natural preserves of high scientific and recreational value: the Bottomless Lake at Ocna Sibiului, the limestone at Cisnadioara, the Eocene limestone at Turnu Rosu, the steppe preserve at Valea Sarba, the alpine gulf and lake Balea, Iezerele Cindrelului (Cindrel alpine lakes).

		A very special zone is Marginimea Sibiului with its 18 localities at the foot of the Cibin Mountains covering a surface of 200 sq.km.
