		Mihonoseki is located in the area at the eastern edge of the Shimane-hanto Peninsula in northeastern Shimane through Sakai-Suido-Ohashi Bridge to Sakai-minato in Tottori.
		There is the Mihonoseki Lighthouse built with stones in the late 19th century at Jizo-zaki Point at the eastern edge of the peninsula.
		At the tip of the long, narrow peninsula on a hill overlooking the Mihonoseki Harbor stands the Miho-jinja Shrine with a long history first documented in the 8th century.

		Geographical Location The park is situated in the northern section of the Chugoku district of Honshu Island.

		The second oldest sanctuary in Japan is found at Mihonoseki, on the Shimane Peninsular, dedicated to seafarers.

		Glanerbrug (LL) A stone fell on the roof of a house and broke into numerous fragments, the largest weighing 135g.
		The total mass recovered was about 670g, Mihonoseki (L6) During a thunderstorm the meteorite fell through the roof of the two-story house of M.Matsumoto in 117 Sozu, Mihonoseki.
		It penetrated two floors and was found the next day under the house near a small hole in the ground, one individual weighing 6.38 kg.

	Russia agrees to release Japanese fishing boat Japan Policy & Politics - Find Articles
		The Russian border guard service has agreed to release a Japanese fishing boat four months after seizing it on suspicion of conducting unauthorized fishing for crab in the Sea of Japan last September, Itar-Tass news agency reported Wednesday.
		The 144-ton Seisho Maru No. 81 from Mihonoseki, Shimane Prefecture, with 10 crew members aboard, was seized Sept. 13 and taken to Nakhodka in the Russian Far East.
		Last month, Nakhodka's city court sentenced the boat's captain, Hiroyuki Watanabe, to a 100,000 ruble (about $3,280) fine and confiscated the vessel's fishing gear.
