		Mike first picked up a guitar at the age of about 8 years old, in third grade and proceeded to take lessons for a couple of months but soon became bored with the monotonous teaching and decided that he’d teach himself ‘rock’ songs that were his passion.
		Mike considers the music he creates as ‘rock’ and frowns upon accusations that today’s musical triumphs such as the albums; ‘A Crow Left of the Murder’ and ‘Morning View’ are a mixture of funk and metal.
		Mike does not conceive that their style is anything like that although they have touched on those elements previously in their musical career.

		Einziger uses Ibanez guitars, Paul Reed Smith guitars, Marshall amplifiers, Mesa Boogie amplifiers (including a dual rectifier tremoverb with two Mesa Boogie 4x12 cabinets loaded with 30 Watt Celestion speakers), and various pedals.
		He has also played a Jerry Jones Master Sitar for one of Incubus' songs.
		Mike also plays piano on songs like "Here in my room" and has recently played piano in a live version of "Drive" during their show at Red Rocks, Colorado.
