Michael William "Mike" Krzyzewski (/ˌʃəˈʃɛfski/, "sha-SHEF-skee") (born February 13, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois), often referred to as Coach K, is the head coach of the Duke University men's basketball team.
Krzyzewski was picked to coach the U.S. basketball team for the 2006 FIBA World Championships and 2008 Beijing Olympics on October 26, 2005.
Krzyzewski also was the head coach of the U.S. team in the 1990 FIBA World Championships, when he led the American collegians to a third place finish (NBA players were not allowed to participate at that time).
